Interview with Rob

I interviewed Rob near middle of Nobody's Hero Part 2

Age: 26 yrs

Hi Rob, It has been a while since we last spoke, if I remember correctly,
last time was not long after Imogen and Marcus got together,
it seems there has been a lot of changes, care to tell me about them?

Well I’m now a father! I have a beautiful little girl called Katelyn, only downside is her mother!
Oh and I’ve fallen in love….

Yep Imogen said you had a girlfriend…
Last time we spoke you were sure there was no-one out there for you,
you weren’t looking for anything special.. what changed?

I don’t know what changed.. One night… The night before Christmas gone..

I was out with Imi and Marcus.. Imi got a bit too drunk and Marcus had to take her home..
I then sauntered around Whitley… Then saw this girl and, that was that..
It was like being hit by a train but in a good way.. the rest is history.
I always ribbed Imi for that love at first sight stuff but I guess I have been proved wrong,
she is definitely forever. I don’t see myself with anyone else.. Ever…

Wow! Massive change. I have definitely got to meet this girl! So apart from Becoming a Dad and falling in love, has anything else happened?

I now work as a carer, I know.. Another career change. Imi is never around,
miss her and Marcus but I’ve got Frankie and Katelyn to keep me busy.

How is your friendship with Imi and Marcus, a lot of changes in the dynamics..
You were only just getting to know Marcus when we last chatted...

Hey its all good. I was usher at their wedding, me and Marcus have became good mates
though we have butted heads a few times, normally when me and Imi get up to our old dangerous wild stunts,
but we’re good, we’re family, guess they're the only family I can count on. Miss seeing them, we keep in touch though.

So how is it with the real family?

It is always on a knife edge, I’ll always be the failure and black sheep, guess I’ve got used to it.

You mentioned Katelyn's Mother?

That is a long story, a drunken one night stand with the town bike.. Who my mother and brothers love…
I know.. before you say it i've said it a thousand times.. but I wasn't in a good place back then...
Though Katelyn is the silver lining... But Raquel, the mother from hell enjoys playing mindgames and using contact against me,
so I make the most of the precious moments with Katelyn cause I never know what she is going to do next…
She really doesn’t like that I’ve found someone.. I think she feels threatened.

How is Buzby doing?

She is on her last legs, old and broken, a bit like me..

Managing to get out a little but I cant see her lasting much longer, though I’ll never part with her.
I guess I always think no matter how much she falls apart she can be saved… A bit like me I guess…

How is your health?

As always… Kidney function did drop a bit but seems to be steady at the moment,
I haven’t been thinking about it. I have spent too many years allowing it to control my life and thinking about my death…
Now I’m enjoying living and looking ahead.

So what are your plans?

I don’t really have any apart from I’m thinking of eventually proposing to Frankie….
Yeah too soon, but then again Imi and Marcus got engaged and married very quickly! For me it will take a while.
It will take me forever to save for a ring, cause I’m not getting her anything cheap…

I am really pleased to see you so happy, I truly hope it lasts.
If anyone deserves happiness it is you.

Hopefully we’ll get to talk again soon, and maybe next time you will be married…

Yeah hopefully! I finally see myself growing old and grey…
